It's been a very busy week and mommy has been remiss in posting new pics on the blog... so we'll get right to it with a few from the past week!

Weekend Trip

This past weekend we made our first trip with Jackson away from home to visit family... first up was the "Cook Side", where we were lucky enough to have my whole family in town. Then it was off to the see some of the "Tautkus side", with a quick stop in Neponset where Grandma Peggy peeked through the window at Jackson (she was sick and didn't want to risk passing anything on) and then off to see Great Grandma and Grandpa Tautkus. Grandpa Mike even came over to hang out, too! Definitely a fun-filled trip!

Catching Up

Well, it's definitely been a while since I've posted anything - but it's also been a busy couple of weeks in the Tautkus household...

Our first overnight trip away from home! We spent Tuesday through Friday last week out in Lafayette, Indiana, with Daddy while he was on a work trip. Jackson and I spent the majority of our time in the hotel room hanging out while Daddy was at work, but it still counts as our first overnight trip. Jackson even helped Daddy out at night with some work!

I also caught Jackson in another first, sucking his thumb... hopefully that doesn't become a habit (thankfully we haven't seen it since!)

And of course, we also proved that Jackson can be a naked baby away from home, too... check out this little "outfit" Daddy let him wear for a while when Mommy was away. =)

Out and About

It just figures... the first time Jackson and I get to venture out in public with just the two of us, there's a winter snowstorm and windchill advisory! (ok, maybe his pediatrician isn't "public", but it does involve us leaving the house!). Today was the big 1-month checkup for our little man, so we definitely weren't about to skip that appointment. As expected, Jackson received a clean bill of health - he now weighs 8 pounds, 11 ounces and is 20.5 inches long!

Daddy is an enabler...

We have quickly learned a very fun fact about Jackson - the boy hates wearing clothes. He hates everything about putting clothes on and wearing them; as soon as we take off clothes to change him he becomes a very happy naked baby. We're working on this, right now it's really cute, but in the near future obviously one can see where this could lead to some problems!

Today, Mommy went for a quick trip out to get groceries and run a couple of errands and Jackson was in the very capable hands of Daddy. When she left, Jackson had on a very cute outfit; when she returned, this is what she found. Thus, we have established that Daddy is an enabler.
